JUNIOR SCHOOL NEWS - From the Head of Junior School
Communication Date : Friday 5 August, 2022
Upcoming information for Term 3, Week 5
Week 4 has been filled with learning, laughter and joy! I love heading out to the playground during break times to chat with students and hear about their classroom adventures, to listen to some new knowledge that they have discovered or even join in with a game or two when I can. Getting out and about with students is always the best reminder as to what we do well in our Junior School and how much our students enjoy coming to school each day. As we head into a short week next week, there will be a few disruptions to normal routines due to a public holiday and pupil free day, but it is also a fabulous opportunity to pause and enjoy some extra family moments and time together. With lots of events coming up in the next 3 weeks, make sure you keep up to date with information coming home to set you up for success and ensure you don't attending any of our events.

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL TICKETS AND CAST SHIRTS
Production date is drawing closer and tickets are selling fast so don't miss your chance to experience our 40th Anniversary School Musical. It is set to be a fabulous event filled with music, dance, drama and a few surprises! It was very exciting for both staff and students as our cast and crew shirts arrived yesterday. Cast and crew are invited to wear these to school each Thursday, with their school sports shorts or tracksuit pants, so that we have all students in them each week for rehearsals. You will also see lots of staff wearing them around on this day each week to help build the excitement as the event draws near.
If you haven't secured your tickets yet, please click on the following link to book a seat for this fabulous family night https://www.trybooking.com/CBHMB .
You will notice when you go into the booking options of the event, that there is an option for tiered grandstand seating. We are bringing in some raised seating to transform our performance space and ensure everyone that attends has a great view of the stage. GO WILDCATS!!

BOOK WEEK - WEEK 7
Dreaming with Eyes Open is about stepping into your own story. It invokes thoughts of ancient times, and of listening to Country as the first storyteller. You can, of course, adapt it to your own dreams and future ambitions.
SOME EXAMPLES OF EASY BOOK WEEK COSTUMES
Colourful Birds : How the Birds Got Their Colours is a wonderful story from the Australian Dreamtime. It tells the tale of poor Dove, and the feathered friends who gathered to help her. All the birds were dull coloured, but after helping Dove their feathers were transformed. Dreamtime is full of wonderful inspiration. Your child could dress all in green and become Tiddalick the Frog, who drank all the water from the river, and their brightest colours could turn them into The Rainbow Serpent.
Dreaming of being a Sports Star : This one is the perfect choice for any sports fan! Before he became a professional basketballer, Michael Jordan dreamed of winning an Olympic gold medal – and he did! With the 2032 Olympics coming to Australia, any budding Olympian can dream with their eyes open. The costume for this one is simple, and your child might already have it in their wardrobe!
NASA Astronaut : SPACE! It’s infinite – and as big as your dreams can possibly be. Imagine being an astronaut, floating around in a space-ship and looking through your windows at all the tiny worlds far away.
