JUNIOR SCHOOL NEWS - From the Head of Junior School
Welcome to 2023
I always enjoy the start of a new year, as the facilities get prepared, classrooms are designed and teachers are busy planning engaging learning experiences for their students. On Monday, our kids will return to our Link Road campus to connect, create, flourish, thrive and imagine as they settle into their new spaces, and begin to connect with their new teachers. It has been a busy holiday with facilities upgrades, vacation care, grounds work and a refurbishment of our Faith Kindy taking place.
We are ready to welcome you all back officially on Monday, 23 January 2023! I look forward to seeing the big smiles as our students return, watching them share holiday stories with friends - I really do have the best job in the world! This year we will continue to create learning opportunities for our students to be curious, watch them take courageous steps forward and guide them as they care for each other both inside and outside of the classroom.
Some additional information to help families......
CLASS ALLOCATIONS
As per our previous communications, your child's class allocation will be available for viewing in our Parent Lounge as of 3:00pm today. We ask that any questions you may have about your child's allocation are sent to us via email, addressed to our Deputy Head of Junior School - Mrs Emma Brice via: [email protected] . If you are having trouble accessing Parent Lounge to view your child's class then please phone our Junior School office for assistance. We have a fabulous teaching team for this year and all are exceptional educators. Each student has been placed according to both academic and social/emotional needs with a balance across classes per year level also achieved. We look forward to hearing of the excitement as you discover which teacher your child will grow and flourish under this year.

CLASSROOM LOCATIONS
Our teachers are working hard to finalise classroom set up for this year and due to growth, a number of our teachers and year levels have now moved.
One thing to note is that our Year 6 students have relocated to the bottom floor of the I Block building. Over the past few years, we have and continue to move towards embedding a servant leadership approach into our Year 6 leadership program. This allows our oldest students to model and guide our younger students on how to demonstrate our 5C's each day. By relocating our Year 6 classrooms downstairs we feel this is a more central location and their profile as role models is increased.
Please be sure to check out the map below to see where your child's classroom is located for 2023. Our teachers have redesigned new themes for our year levels this year and we look forward to sharing these with our students upon their return to school.
