JUNIOR SCHOOL NEWS - From the Acting Head of Junior School
Communication Date Friday, 20 October 2023
It has been a big week of special events at Faith. On Monday, the whole College gathered in the SPAH to acknowledge and celebrate our students who have achieved at a high level in various sporting and cultural pursuits. Yesterday, we had Grandparent's and Special Person's join us for the morning. It was truly heart-warming to watch our students and visitors interact with each other (some Grandparents even had a go at Ga Ga Ball!). This morning we were visited by around seventy children and their families who will start in our Prep next year.
Year 3C students helped to lead this week’s Chapel worship; the big question we considered was ‘Where did God come from?’. Prep C and Year 5H were awarded the Reading Award at assembly. Staff Members of the Week awards were presented to Mrs Letkeman for providing amazing learning opportunities for Preppies and Mrs Bell for supporting, nurturing and educating Year 6 students.
Next week, our Tuesday Worship will be extra special and will involve some special participants and guests. Our Worship service will include the installation of Pastor Brenton Altmann as Director of Identity and Formation for Lutheran schools across Queensland. Pastor Brenton was the previous College Pastor here at Faith. Chapel will start at 2:00pm next week.
Also, next week on Friday, we celebrate World Teacher's Day. It is a day across the nation when we acknowledge those who teach and who have taught. Here at Faith we acknowledge all staff who work as a mighty team to help our students learn and grow. You might like to acknowledge a staff member you know next Friday.

YMCA CARPARK
Please be reminded that the YMCA parking spaces (on their property) are for YMCA members only. There are various signs in their carpark reminding people that it is not public parking. If you are picking up, dropping off students or coming for an event at our Link Road campus, please refrain from using the YMCA carpark. They have informed us that vehicles may be towed who do not comply.
Schools and school zones are always busy places after 3:00pm, delaying picking up students by 10 minutes or so makes a big difference to the traffic and the congestion.
