PARENT VOLUNTEERS
We love the opportunity to have parents support our staff through parent helpers in the classroom, canteen volunteers, sports or cultural volunteers and so much more. Our Volunteer Induction sessions will be back and available for parents who wish to join us in the classroom in a volunteer capacity towards the end of Term 1. More details regarding signing up to these sessions will be available shortly.
PARENT INFORMATION EVENING
SAVE THE DATE: The Junior School Parent information evening will be held on Tuesday, 7 February 2023 at 6:00pm (further information to come).
CLASS CARERS

An expression of interest form will be sent out to parents soon to give all interested parties an opportunity to apply. MUNCH & CRUNCH
Our munch and crunch snack time will continue for students this year during our morning session each day. To assist with this process, we are asking parents to please bring their healthy snack in a separate container rather than part of their main lunch box. This will help with our classroom routines of ensuring this is a quick "munch & crunch" snack as it is intended to be. If you have any questions regarding this, please check in with your teacher next week so that they can assist.
FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL PROCEDURES
This year, we will continue to have 'connections' week for the first week of Term 1 to support our students while they settle in, find their new classrooms and develop new family rhythms and routines. This means that parents are welcome to move about our Junior campus rather than say goodbye at our drop off points.
If you are unsure of where your child's classroom is located please check the map at the bottom of this publication for assistance.
By the end of Week 1, we ask all families in Year 1 - 6 to have decided upon and practised their 2023 drop off and pick up routines at your allocated entry and exit points. As of week 2, normal daily routines will resume for Year 2 - 6 students. For our Year 1 families, students that require additional support or a little longer to settle, parents are able to continue supporting students to the bag racks up until the end of week 2. The allocated collection points are according to your youngest child's year level. There is only one collection point per family.
For example: Mrs Brown has students in Year 6, 4 and 2. All her children will go to the youngest siblings' collection point of - Collection Point A (unless they are using drive thru).

COMMUNICATION TOOLS
Our main forms of communication will continue to be email, FLCR app, our school website and our school Facebook page. Please ensure you check your emails regularly and that your details are always up to date with our Junior School office to ensure you do not miss out on important updates and information.
Whilst there are class Facebook pages for parents, these are not school approved or sanctioned and are not communication channels for information. These are a tool that parents choose to independently set up and use to communicate with each other. These pages should not have the school name or logo on them and should not be used to discuss school issues, personal perspectives or current affairs. We thank our parents for using these as they are intended, to support each other as a parent community and we ask you to protect that culture and purpose by moderating each other to ensure the use is supportive of our school and our communication processes. If you wish to know more information regarding the acceptable use of these Facebook groups, please click HERE to read our ICT acceptable use policy.
BYOD
Please click on the following link to access our Community Hub for BYOD setup information and the required apps for Junior School : http://flcrjs.weebly.com/setup.html. It is ok if your child's iPad is not completely set up for Day 1, we are asking that all families have their devices logged in and ready to go by the end of Week 1. Teachers will also be working with students throughout the week to assist getting these up and running in the classroom.
3 SLEEPS TO GO...
In just a few short days we will be welcoming our students into our classrooms. Our staff are excited, our kids are excited and we just can't wait. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement as we start the year in an adventurous way. As the first day gets closer encourage your child to think of the things they cannot wait to discover, of the new friends they will make and how they will share with others stories from their time on holidays. We look forward to seeing you all soon.
Kind Regards
Jodi
