Upcoming information for Term 2, Week 5
You may notice a few new faces around our Junior School campus this week and next week. It is exciting to share that we have some new student coaches who have joined our Junior School staffing team and are working in various classrooms to support our students. Next week, at assembly, we will be getting them to say hi to our students so that they know who they are when they see them out and about, we will also share a short bio with families in our upcoming information for Term 2, Week 6 that will be emailed home on Friday. If you see some of our new faces as you move through campus please introduce yourself and say hi to help them feel welcome as they settle into life at Faith.
In this week's upcoming information you will read about Under 8's Day that is happening next Wednesday, a reminder of after school procedures in Prep, information about HEART week that starts on Monday and our regular Extra Curricular timetable and reminders. Week 5 here we come with lots of action and events happening!

UNDER 8's DAY
A reminder that our Under 8's Day is on Wednesday, 17 May. This is a special day that celebrates the Early Years of childhood and the importance of play and exploration in the development of young children.
This year's theme is "Me, You, and Our Communities," which emphasises the importance of building relationships and connections with the people and places around us. We believe that by fostering a sense of community and belonging, children can develop a strong foundation for their future learning and development.
To celebrate Under 8s Day, our students in P-2 will be participating in a range of activities that promote play and exploration. These activities are designed to encourage children to use their imagination, creativity, and curiosity to explore the world around them. We are also excited to welcome Faith Kindy who will be joining us on this special day. We also have a special guest presenter, Troy Allen, a proud Bundjalung man, who will be sharing songs, dances, and stories that reflect his Aboriginal culture and traditions. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about the rich cultural heritage of our community.
Additionally, we will be offering face painting on the day. If your child has any allergies or you do not wish for them to participate in face painting, please inform their classroom teacher.
Under 8s Day is such a special and wonderful day on our school calendar. The joy, smiles and discoveries make for the day to be one to remember. We cannot wait to see our students to learn, grow, and connect with their community. Please apply sun–screen before school (additionally, sun-screen will available throughout the day if needed). Students are asked to wear their sport uniform with House shirt and their hat.

PREP NOTIFICATION
It is wonderful to see connections happening with each other throughout the first year of your child’s schooling. However, we have noticed an increase in the number of students playing on the school equipment outside of school hours. Safety of our community is of the utmost importance, so we ask you to please move from the Prep area once your child has come to you and not allow them to play on the school equipment after hours. We encourage families to arrange playdates, soccer games and catch-ups to further foster strong connections, at local parks or playgrounds outside of school. We thank you for playing an active role in keeping our students safe and being part of the Faith difference.
