Upcoming information for Term 2, Week 3
It has been a great week in the Junior School, although a little wet, it didn't stop our students showing their 5C's both in and out of the classroom.
In our publication this week we have some information regarding Under 8's Day that is fast approaching, some updated apps lists for our BYOD program, an upcoming volunteer induction session, information about our Mother's Day stall, important school photo information, Wakakirri sign up and our weekly Extra Curricular schedule. Enjoy some some special family moments as you head into the long weekend and we look forward to seeing on Tuesday!

UNDER 8's DAY
We will be holding our Under 8's Day on Wednesday 17 May. This is a special day that celebrates the Early Years of childhood and the importance of play and exploration in the development of young children.
This year's theme is "Me, You, and Our Communities," which emphasises the importance of building relationships and connections with the people and places around us. We believe that by fostering a sense of community and belonging, children can develop a strong foundation for their future learning and development.
To celebrate Under 8s Day, our students in P-2 will be participating in a range of activities that promote play and exploration. These activities are designed to encourage children to use their imagination, creativity, and curiosity to explore the world around them. We are also excited to welcome Faith Kindy who will be joining us on this special day. We also have a special guest presenter, Troy Allen, a proud Bundjalung man, who will be sharing songs, dances, and stories that reflect his Aboriginal culture and traditions. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about the rich cultural heritage of our community.
Additionally, we will be offering face painting on the day. If your child has any allergies or you do not wish for them to participate in face painting, please inform their classroom teacher.
To make this an interactive event for our children, we would love some parent helpers to assist with activities on the day. Parents who have completed both the face to face and online components of parent volunteer induction (Valuing Safe Communities) are invited to help on the day. Please email Monique Woods before 10 May, 2023 if you are available to assist: [email protected].
Under 8s Day is such a special and wonderful day on our school calendar. The joy, smiles and discoveries make for the day to be one to remember. We cannot wait to see our students to learn, grow, and connect with their community. Please apply sun–screen before school (additionally, sun-screen will available throughout the day if needed). Students are asked to wear their sport uniform with House shirt and their hat.

TERM 2 - APPS LIST
Our BYOD Apps lists have been updated for Term 2. It’s good to regularly check your child’s iPad and review what’s on it. Please ensure that they have all of the apps required by their year level and consider deleting extra apps that are no longer needed or not required foe school (but remember that there may be some links to browser pages that look like apps which teachers have asked students to save). New apps on the Term 2 lists have been marked, but please also check that students still have the other apps from Term 1. You can find the updated apps lists here: http://flcrjs.weebly.com/setup.html
