Welcome to Term 3
Welcome back to an exciting and adventurous Term 3! We hope you have had a fantastic break away from school routines and taken the time to connect and enjoy moments with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming all students back on campus on Monday morning as we start with connections. In this week's edition we have information regarding some changes to timetables, new families, staffing updates, weekly chapel and assembly, drive thru protocols, arrival and departure times, canteen and our regular extra curricular schedule for Active@Faith and Create@Faith.
NEW FAMILIES
We have 6 new families joining the Faith Link Road campus this term in various grade levels. As you see them around or if they join your class community, please help them find their way and make them feel welcome with a small chat. It is exciting to see our school still growing as we welcome students in to experience our caring and energised community.

STAFFING UPDATES
As we start the term we have a few staff off on some well deserved long service leave. Mrs Kim Spencer will be absent for all of Term 3 and 1S will be led by one of our regular relief teachers, Ms Kate McCullough. Mrs Gail Wildman is also off enjoying a well deserved break for the first 3 weeks of Term and Mrs Angela McClelland will be filling that role whilst Mrs Prue Gardiner covers Angela in our administration team. Mr David Hartshorn will also be on Long Service Leave for the first 4 weeks of this term, enjoying a well deserved break and his classes will be covered by Ms Debbie Garson, one of our regular relief teachers. Additionally, we welcome a new Japanese teacher to the Junior School for the remainder of 2023, Ms Paula Leigh. Please check out Paula's bio below to find out a little about her.

JAPANESE TEACHER
Hello! My name is Paula Leigh and I’m excited to be joining the team at Faith to teach Japanese on a Wednesday in the Junior School. I’m trained as a Music and Japanese teacher, so I love to sing in all of my classes and just generally every day as well. Teaching Japanese makes me excited because it reminds me that God loves everyone in the world, and by learning other languages we can start to appreciate just how big and diverse this wonderful world that he made is. |
CHANGE TO TIMETABLE
Due to some changes in staffing and changes to our timetable across our whole college, some specialist lessons have moved this term. Please be mindful of this if your child attends a regular intervention appointment and if you are unsure of any changes, please check in with your teacher as the first point of contact. We have included an updated uniform days timetable below for your reference.

CHAPEL AND ASSEMBLY SERVICES
Our regular Tuesday Chapel service and Thursday Assembly will resume in Week 1 at 2:30pm in our Junior School SPAH. If you are joining us for either of these community events there is no need to sign in at reception, just scan one of our QR codes at the door to register your attendance on Campus; we would love to see you there.

DRIVE THRU PROCEDURES - SAFETY MATTERS
For the safety of all staff and students please ensure the following procedures are followed at all times. Staff will ask you to move on or cease any procedures that are unsafe for our students and families.
For the safety of all staff and students please ensure the following procedures are followed at all times. Staff will ask you to move on or cease any procedures that are unsafe for our students and families.
- Do not enter the drive thru lane until 2:55pm each afternoon. Cars that arrive earlier than this cause a traffic jam and make it difficult to move the collection of students through as quickly as possible.
- Between the hours of 6:30am – 7:50am and 3:30pm – 6:00pm Drive thru is a loading zone parking area for OSHC pick up and drop off. This is the designated OSHC parking, parents should not park in the administration and staff carpark, when dropping off or picking up their child from OSHC.
- School bags must only be placed inside the car. Bags are not to be collected from the boot or put into the boot when departing. This is a safety issue to ensure students are not at risk of being hit by a car from behind. If you have a baby seat in the car preventing you from being able to use the back seat, please advise our drive thru staff who are on duty and we will ensure we can assist your child to keep them safe.
ARRIVING AT SCHOOL ON TIME
Students are expected to arrive by 8:25am each morning ready for the day to begin at 8:30am. Arriving on time sets your child up for success as they start the day with routine, along with not missing important morning content and announcements. We thank you for your support.

EARLY DEPARTURES
A reminder to parents that if you phone the office after 2:30pm to collect your child early, you will be asked to wait until 3:00pm unless it is an emergency. This is to ensure that your child does not miss out on valuable learning time - departing 10 minutes early here and there quickly adds up to hours of missed learning across the course the term and disrupts not just your child but the rest of the class as they leave the room. We thank you for your understanding and support with this.

CANTEEN
A reminder that canteen orders are to be submitted online by 8:00am each Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We understand that at times emergencies happen, but this should be an exception not a regular occurrence. If this is the case, orders can be taken via the Junior School office up until 8:30am. After this time you will need to arrange for food to be dropped off to school for your child.
