PARENT/TEACHER INTERVIEWS - 28 FEBRUARY
A reminder that next Tuesday, we will be holding our Junior School Parent/Teacher Interviews. Each interview will be ten minutes in length commencing at 3:10pm, in your child’s classroom. During your appointment time, your teacher will discuss your child’s progress and any areas of concern they may have. It is also an opportunity for you to discuss any concerns or issues you may have regarding your child’s progress. If parents and or the class teachers require more than the allocated interview time, a follow up meeting will be scheduled.
Café Flourish will also be open for the duration of the evening and our specialist teachers will be there to serve you and have a chat so please come past and hear about what your child is engaging with in PE, MMM, Workshop or Design Tech. We hope to see you there and we will also have coffee, tea and hot chocolates available.

CARPARK CLOSED
Wednesday, 1 March we will be having some line marking done in our carparks. This will mean our main administration carpark will be closed for the day and there will be limited access to our Prep/Kindy carpark. If possible, please use Drive Thru or our Koala Gums exit gate on this day. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we continue to make improvements around our campus.

EARLY DEPARTURES AND SPECIALIST APPOINTMENT APPROVALS
We are experiencing a high volume of early student departures. This is a reminder that students are required to attend school right up until 3:00pm each day unless there is a family emergency or a pre arranged appointment time. Leaving early multiple times across the term quickly adds up and your child begins to miss more and more classroom learning time. Schools are very busy places and we need our processes to work for our administration and our families. Further to this, if you need to collect your child early from school you must notify the office prior to 2:30pm. After 2:30pm, we will not be able to get a message to your child or get them brought down to our Student Hub unless it is an emergency. Please be kind to our staff if you ring after this time and they advise you that you will need to wait until 3:00pm to collect your child.
If your child has a regular appointment with a specialist, this must be approved by Emma Brice, one of our Deputy Heads of Junior School. This ensures that your child's attendance is recorded correctly as a school approved absentee and ensures we always know what their movements are throughout the day. To advise Emma of a standing appointment, please send an email to [email protected] detailing the day, time and reason for the regular appointment.
Students being collected during morning tea or lunch times, will be asked to eat and wait at the Student Hub for collection rather than be out at play until departure time. Additionally, students being collected during Chapel or Assembly, will not attend these events, they will wait for your arrival at the Student Hub. These collections, as mentioned above, should be previously arranged and approved by Mrs Emma Brice. Whilst we do our best to ensure your child is at the Student Hub on time for an appointment, at times there are learning activities occurring that may delay their arrival. For our older students in Years 4 - 6 it is expected that they will become independent and aware of the time to remind their teacher of the need to be excused from class for collection. We thank you for your support and partnership with these administrative processes and interruptions during the busy school day where our priority is on learning.

YMCA CARPARK
Please be reminded that the YMCA parking spaces (on their property) are for YMCA members only. There are various signs in their carpark reminding people that it is not public parking. If you are picking up or dropping off students at our Link Road campus, please refrain from using the YMCA carpark. They have informed us that vehicles may be towed who do not comply.
Schools and school zones are always busy places after 3:00pm, delaying picking up students by 10 minutes or so makes a big difference to the traffic and the congestion. Students are well supervised up until 3:30pm by which time the Link Road area is much less congested. If you are arriving a little later, the best pick up location will be our Drive Thru zone.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB
Issue 2 Book Club catalogues are out! Orders will close on Tuesday, 14 March 2023.
To place an order and make payment please use – LOOP – Linked Online Ordering and Payment available on www.scholastic.com.au/LOOP or download the LOOP Apple or Android app. Please note there are no cash orders. Please do not send any orders to school. Each order helps earn free books and teaching materials for our library and classrooms, however there is never any obligation to order.
Whilst the majority of book titles in the Scholastic catalogues help our students foster their love of reading and are just fantastic reads, at times the content of some books can be misaligned with our school or our own family values. When ordering, if you are unsure that the content would be appropriate, take a moment to check out a bit more about that particular title before ordering. Focus on the Family offer a great website that can be of assistance called Plugged In (https://www.pluggedin.com/) that offers reviews and content advisory warnings to help keep our kids safe. Common sense media is another website that can be a great resource to help parents find out what they need to know about the book your child is wanting to read also (https://www.commonsensemedia.org/book-reviews).
