JUNIOR SCHOOL NEWS - From the Acting Head of Junior School
Communication Date Friday, 24 November 2023
‘What a beautiful night is was last night’. I have heard this comment more than a few times this morning. And, yes, it was a wonderful night of community, family and carols, A hugh thank you to our terrific staff who put in many hours to make the event come to life; and to our wonderful students for leading us in song and story telling. Thank you parents for being part of last night’s event, and thank you God for such a very pleasant evening to be out and about together.
We are well into our end of year celebrations. Yesterday, we celebrated another year of growth and learning with our Prep to Year 5 students. Individual awards were presented to some students from each P-5 class for each of our 5Cs and Citizenship Excellence. Awards for Literacy, Numeracy, World Around Us, and Overall Academic achievement were presented to students in each Year 2 - 5 class. Congratulations to award recipients and each and everyone of our P-5 students on your progress this year. Next Tuesday is our Year 6 Celebration of Learning and Thursday evening is Faith Celebrates, commencing at 6pm.
Mr Hartshorn, Mrs Altmann and the the Year 1S students led this week’s Chapel worship, as often happens when Mr Hartshorm comes along with his guitar, we sang many songs together (including a favourite, Making Melodies). Mrs Altmann shared a message reminding us of Jesus our good shepherd; a timely reminder as we approach Christmas. A great question for us to consider, ‘Why did God come to be a person like us and live among people?’.
Next week is, of course, the last week of school for our students. Students can wear a ‘Christmassy’ accessory each day with Thursday being free dress day with a Christmas look. All classes are having a Celebration Lunch on Tuesday.
Best wishes as together we wrap up another school year.
