JUNIOR SCHOOL NEWS - From the Acting Head of Junior School
Communication Date Friday, 8 September 2023
I have just had the most wonderful week; my first week at Faith Junior School. I find myself in a very welcoming and friendly school environment. I look forward to learning and growing with you over the rest of this school year.
I love that the students are very involved in so much of the school activity beyond the classroom. Year 4N students led us in worship at Tuesday’s Chapel with the message "Putting Love in Action". At Thursday’s Assembly, Year 6 student leaders led us through a time of acknowledgement and celebration of achievements. Awards were announced for student and staff of the week, and for students who are living out the ‘5Cs’. Staff acknowledged this week were Mrs Altmann (for her support of all the Music programs and helping with the audio for Passion Project Carnival Day) and Miss Guse (for the happy way she welcomes all families and students at Reception). The College has five value words that identify what is important at this school and that we strive to live out together; Care, Courtesy, Courage, Curious and Common sense. I love that these values are a key part of the awards given to students each week.
A real highlight was the culmination of the Passion Project and the learning opportunities that were encountered along the way. Students have been working in groups during the term to create and then run an activity for the enjoyment and participation of all students. This happened on Tuesday when a variety of activities, challenges and snacks were available for everyone in a carnival atmosphere. Congratulations students for your work on this project.
Next week is the last week of this term. School finishes at the usual time next Friday, 15 September. A big event for next week is the whole College Tennis Carnival that happens at the Junior School Campus.
