Subject: COLLEGE BUSES - Important Information About Changes Due to Road Works on Beveridge Road
Dear Parents
As advised just prior to the holidays, the College has been advised that roadworks will be commencing along Beveridge Road from Monday 26 July. THE CHANGES TO BUS TIMES BELOW; HOWEVER, WILL COMMENCE FROM MONDAY 19 JULY TO ENSURE THAT THE CHANGES ARE FUNCTIONING PRIOR TO THE FULL COMMENCEMENT OF WORKS.
One of the conditions placed on the development of the housing estate directly across from the College by Redland City Council is that the road be widened to allow for car parking on both sides of Beveridge Road. It is anticipated that works will take approximately 6 weeks. A few changes have been made to College bus routes and parking on the Beveridge Road campus to minimise the impact to families and students.
The College bus timetables for both the Northern and Southern routes have been temporarily modified. The revised schedules are attached for your reference and are also available on the College website. All Secondary students catching College buses are asked to pack up the things they need to take home at the end of lunch and take their bag with them to Period 5 and 6. They will be required to leave class at 2:55pm as buses will be leaving Beveridge Road at 3:00pm promptly. Junior students will be impacted less by the changes; however, will temporarily be catching the bus from the opposite side of Link Road and will be under the supervision of staff whilst crossing the road and until they have been picked up by the bus. Departure from class will no longer be on bus bell, our Junior bus travelers on the Southern Run, will leave school at the end of the day and be escorted to the bus stop by staff, due to the later departure time of buses from Link Road.
You are reminded that students now require a bus tag to travel on the College bus, and these tags must be used to swipe on and off the bus each time the students are travelling. Tags are available at no cost at both Receptions, but if the tag is lost and needs to be replaced the cost will be $15. Please note that casual bus passes are no longer being accepted.
