JUNIOR SCHOOL NEWS - From the Head of Junior School
Communication Date Thursday 7 July, 2022
WELCOME BACK TO TERM 3!
I love the start of a term, it is mixed with excitement, a bit of anticipation as students prepare to return to school, but most of all there is a sense of adventure brewing. In our 40th Anniversary year, Term 3 is most certainly shaping up to be an action packed one! We have NAIDOC week, Funfest, the College Musical Production, Book Week, Year 5 Camp and our Tennis Festival all coming up, and that's just to name a few! If you haven't had a chance to do your volunteer induction course yet make sure you let us know so that we can get you signed up to one so that you don't miss out on being able to help at an event or even in your child's classroom. With so many great things on this term we need the support of our community and volunteers.
Check out some important information below to help you prepare for your child's return to school on Monday, 11 July - we want to set you up for success and there are few changes and important pieces of information that you will need to know.

CHANGE TO BELL TIMES
Due to the new bus routes, our bus bell will no longer be required in the afternoons. This means all students (even those catching the bus) will finish at 3:00pm each day.

EARLY DEPARTURES
A reminder to parents that if you phone the office after 2:30pm to collect your child early, you will be asked to wait until 3:00pm unless it is an emergency. This is to ensure that your child does not miss out on valuable learning time - departing 10 minutes early here and there quickly adds up to hours of missed learning across the course the term and disrupts not just your child but the rest of the class as they leave the room. We thank you for your understanding and support with this.

TIMETABLE CHANGES AND UNIFORM DAYS
Due to the new bell times and scheduling changes, our timetable for Semester 2 has been adjusted. This means that your child's uniform day may have changed. Please see below for an updated timetable to assist you in ensuring your child is in the correct uniform each day. A reminder to families that if students have sport before or after school, and it is a formal uniform day, they are required to get changed after their training has been completed. Thank you for helping us to continue to remind our students to wear their uniform with pride and follow the 5C's each day.

UNIFORM
As you settle back into Term 3 routines, please ensure your child shows commitment when it comes to uniform, hairstyles, jewellery, hats and shoes. Wearing a school uniform each day says you are proud to be a Faith student. Paying attention to detail and rising up to school expectations is a life skill that will prepare your child to be successful now and in later years. When our children come to school looking neat and tidy, it is one small way of teaching them to take pride in their appearance. We know that when our children are young this can sometimes be hard for families so we thank our parents for taking the time to explain the importances of this to their child and helping them understand. As students settle back into the term, staff will be checking and communicating with you any areas that your child needs to address, if required.
