EARLY DEPARTURES
We have had increasing numbers of students being collected with very short notice before school finishes each day. The only time students should be leaving school early is for prearranged appointments or in an emergency. It places a huge strain on our office team when it is unplanned as well as distracting the learning of students due to calls to classrooms and announcements over the PA. Please can I ask that students remain at school until the end of the school day unless it is for one of the reasons mentioned above. Thank you for your support and understanding as we finish the year well as a community.

FAITH CELEBRATES
On Thursday 1 December at 6pm we are hosting our end of year Faith Celebrates event in the Junior School SPAH. The evening will run for approximately 2 hours and conclude around 8pm. This is a very special community event for our College. During this celebration we gather for one last time together for the year, from our littlest Preppies to our big Senior kids, mums and dads, families, community representatives and staff. We will also officially say farewell to our Year 6 students from the Junior School and hand them over to the care of our 2023 Secondary College Captains. This event is compulsory for all students and attendance rolls will be marked. Students are asked to wear their full formal to this event and be neatly presented. Unlike our other end of year events, there is no ticket booking required for this event so just arrive by 5:45pm and find a chair. Thank you for taking part in this special celebration, it is going to be a great evening.

YEAR 6 WALKOUT - Friday 2 December
At 2:30pm on Friday 2 December, our Year 6 students will commence walking out of our Link Road campus for the last time. This is an opportunity for our younger students to say thank you and wish them well as they prepare to become Secondary students on our Beveridge Road Campus. Our younger grades will line a pathway through the school for our Year 6 kids to walk through the campus. We invite our community to join us, particularly Year 6 parents and families, however, families of other grades are also welcome to join us for this event. Year 6 Students will end the walkout on our Junior School oval and then exit the school grounds from the double gates that open out to the Sharks oval. Parents and families attending are asked to join us on the balcony of the OSHC building for the final section of the walkout if you are able to, otherwise please arrange to collect your child from the Sharks Oval as their collection point for this day. Any students catching the bus will be supported by staff to ensure they get to the bus pick up point. We ask that all Year 6 students wear their Year 6 polo shirts for this occasion. Any questions please check in with your classroom teacher.

CLASS PARTIES - Friday 2 December
As Week 10 is an optional school week for students, our annual class parties will be held on Friday 2 December. Students are invited to bring a PARTY LUNCH BOX to school on this day to celebrate the fantastic year they have had with their teachers and class mates. Students will eat this at first break, so please ensure they have some substantial and healthy food for second break to help them have enough energy through to the end of the day. For health reasons, we will not be sharing food on this day so please do not send any food to school for your child to share with a friend. The party lunch box is optional for students so if you choose to just send regular food to school that day, that is not a problem. Any class gifts or thank you presents that parents are wanting to bring in for class teachers will need to occur at times other than Friday afternoon as staff and students will be involved in the Year 6 walk out from 2:30 - 3:00pm.

JUNIOR SCHOOL TEACHING STAFF 2023
Some of the most powerful professional growth for a teacher comes in extending and applying their teaching practice to new scenarios. As we begin to prepare for 2023, we would like to share the news of some teachers who will change year levels. As previously advised, whilst we do not accommodate specific teacher requests, our goal is certainly successful placement for all of our students. Your child’s current teacher knows what they need and how they learn best, so have confidence in their knowledge of both our staff and students as they prepare lists for 2023. When our administration team and teaching staff return in the New Year, we will review the new enrolments that have come in over the Christmas break; following that, class groups will be adjusted and communicated to families after 3:00pm 18 January 2023, via Parent Lounge.

RETURNING LIBRARY RESOURCES
The end of the school year is always a very busy time in the library as we try to get all of our resources back and do a big clean and stocktake. To help us get this done, we have made this week the last week of library borrowing and ask that all resources (library books, home readers etc) are returned by the end of next week - November 25. We appreciate you having a good look around at home for stray items. Please also check for overdue notices - these may be printed and placed in diaries or emailed (but sometimes they end up in junk). We do charge for items which have been missing for a length of time. Please don't hesitate to contact [email protected] if you have any queries. Please click on image following for reading ideas and resources over the holidays.
