JUNIOR SCHOOL NEWS - From the Head of Junior School
Communication Date : Friday 2 December 2022
Term 4 Final
Today our school term officially ends, with a few more optional days next week. Our 40th year has been one of growth, reflection, challenge and celebration. This afternoon we will see our Year 6 students leave our Link Road Campus for the last time, we are so proud of them and all that they have accomplished. We are not saying goodbye to them, we are saying see you later and we wish you well. Next week they will spend their first 3 days on our Secondary Campus as Year 7 students and our Year 5 students will step up and become the role models of the Junior School.
It is precious to watch our students grow, change and mature, they have come so far in just 12 months and we can't wait to welcome them back to 2023, ready for another year of learning adventures! As I close off our last weekly information update for families for 2022, I want to take a moment to say thank you to our families. Thank you for partnering with us, for walking through challenges and celebrations as a community and for communicating with us so that together we can always ensure that our decisions and our community is focussed on looking after the most important thing - the students! We wish all families a wonderful festive season and a joyous new year. May you enjoy the family moments, reflection time and a change of pace as you wind down and get ready for a fantastic 2023 ahead.

WHEN WILL I KNOW MY CHILD'S 2023 TEACHER?
Parents will be able to access class lists on Parent Lounge from Wednesday, 18 January 2023. Note that class information is unable to be released prior to this date as the College is still receiving applications for new students in the New Year and classes are not finalised until this has occurred. The link to access Parent Lounge is: https://tass.flcr.qld.edu.au/parentlounge/
As previously advised, whilst we do not accommodate specific teacher requests, our goal is certainly successful placement for all of our students. Your child’s current teacher knows what they need and how they learn best, so have confidence in their knowledge of both our staff and students as they prepare lists for 2023.

WEEK 10 INFORMATION
Students attending school next week (from 5 - 7 December) are asked to wear their sports uniform with either Tricolour, 40th Anniversary or House Shirt if attending on these days (a Christmas accessory too if you like). As some activities will be outside please ensure your child also has their sports hat. Just a reminder that our canteen is now closed for the year so students will need to ensure they bring a healthy lunch box to school to have enough energy to get through the day.
During this week, our Year 6 students will be attending the Secondary Campus to take part in some fantastic rotational activities and have an opportunity to get used the the Secondary School Campus as they are officially now part of this sector of our College. Parents are asked to drop off and pick up at Beveridge Road Campus, however if any students require OSHC attendance during these 3 days we will arrange for them to be transported by a staff member, just email us at [email protected] to let us know if this support is needed for your child. This is a fantastic opportunity to get to know some of our older students and our Secondary Teaching team in a fun and relaxed way. Same uniform requirements apply as mentioned above.
