JUNIOR SCHOOL NEWS - From the Head of Junior School
Communication Date 10 June 2022
WEEK 9 - INFORMATION FOR THE WEEK AHEAD
This week around the Junior School we are continuing to focus on spreading kindness by caring for each other. Our staff have been handing out a little spot of kindness as they see it in action and encouraging students to pass on a spot of kindness to a friend. This week we have been looking out for students displaying empathy as they care for others and learn to look at things from someone else's point of view. We are are also preparing for our big Sports Spectacular next week and a special 100 Days celebration for both our Prep and Year 12 students. This means there will be no assembly next week in our SPAH, assembly will resume at 2:20pm on Thursday in week 1.
PREP 100 DAYS
As another exciting term comes to a close, we are taking the time to acknowledge the shared milestone of our Preps and their Year 12 Buddies. Next Friday (17 June) marks a day that finds the Prep students almost 100 days into their first year of school and the Year 12 students with around 100 days left of their schooling journey.
To celebrate this joint milestone, Year 12's have arranged for some special activities to share with the Prep students. These will include a picnic morning tea in the Prep playground, shared artwork, photo booth, cup-cakes and fairy bread to partake in.
The cupcakes and fairy bread will be supplied by the school. We understand that some children have allergies or special dietary requirements, so if this is your child, could you please advise your class teacher and send along a suitable treat substitute so he/she can still participate in this part of the festivities.
After our morning tea together, Preps and Year 12's will join the rest of the Junior School in the Athletics carnival activities. As a Prep cohort, we will celebrate our 100th day in school early in Term 3, so keep an eye out for details of this special celebration, soon.
If you have any questions or concerns about the upcoming 100 Days Celebration, please feel free to contact Kath at [email protected] .
Thank you.

GET READY FOR TERM 3!
As you take time in the holidays to check uniform sizing, have haircuts and many other exciting moments as our children grow, please ensure you refer to the uniform policy and procedures to ensure your decisions are in line with what is acceptable at school. Please pay particular attention to appropriate hairstyles, haircuts, hair colour, and jewellery. These particular areas have been highlighted as we are seeing a rising number of students not meeting our uniform requirements. Teachers will be checking and communicating with you as we return to school in Term 3 if required. Thank you for partnering with us and communicating with your child the importance of being proud to wear the Faith uniform and present as a Faith student adhering to their 5C's each day. https://www.faithlutheran.qld.edu.au/assets/documents/2021/Policies/FLCR-Uniform-Policy-and-Procedures-Aug-2021.pdf
